Euroned Systems Case Story
Euroned Systems was founded in 1980. In 1984 the company started with the development of data systems for pharmacists. In 1989 Euroned was taken over by OPG (Onderlinge Pharmaceutische Groothandel). Since then EuroNed is a 100% daughter of OPG, but is acting as an independent business-unit. The last few years, Euroned has grown rapidly and has become market leader on the field of the automation of pharmacist and a major player on the field of automation of general practitioners.
Euroned Systems is a system house that develops a complete solution for data systems for the first line medical healthcare in The Netherlands. In 1984 Euroned started with the development of APCOS, a software package specially made for pharmacists. In 1989 ARCOS was developed. This is software that was specially designed for general practitioners. The two packages were combined in AACOS, which is used by pharmacist/general practitioners. GECOS is a software package that is used in health centres.
Due to market developments and an explosive growth EuroNed needed to reconsider its value proposition for the first line healthcare. This has lead to a re-structuring of the whole company. Part of this re-organization process was to build a new marketing and sales organization within EuroNed and end the relationship of with the external agent. ICD Initiative was asked to make an assessment, an analysis and a strategy to shape the new marketing and sales organization. After the analysis phase and the new sales and marketing strategy was proposed and agreed upon by EuroNed’s Mangement and OPG’s board of directors, ICD Initiative was assigned to implement the new strategies and build the new sales and marketing team.
